ENGLEWOOD URBAN FOREST

Like many cities surrounding Denver, Englewood’s founding is associated with the Gold Rush in the mid-1800s. Today, Englewood boasts many charming, tree-lined neighborhoods in which DLC has helped homeowners for over 30 years. The city prohibits the planting of female Cottonwoods, Siberian elms, and Box Elders. Check out Englewood’s Memorial Tree program, where the dedication of a tree gives tribute to a loved one or a meaningful event and brings beauty to the community for years to come.

AMERICAN ELM LEGACY

Thankfully, Colorado’s cold and dry climate slowed down the destruction of American Elms caused by the Dutch Elm Disease. We are lucky to see mature American Elms grace many of the older neighborhoods in Englewood. DLC recommends removing deadwood to keep Elms vigorous so that they can fend off insects and disease. If we have a wet spring, homeowners should look out for Elm Leaf Beetles on their Elms.

PROFESSIONAL TREE HEALTH CARE

DLC Landscape & Arbor, unlike many other companies, does not offer annual programs that include multiple applications for pests and nutritional deficiencies that do not exist. These programs often are a waste of money and lead to excessive chemicals in the environment, especially if one application is all that is required.
